Oded Arnon
Ph.D.
Optical Engineering
Biography
Oded Arnon completed his Ph.D. in 1978 at the Institute of Optics, the University of Rochester, New York, with special interest in optical coatings and lens-design. While working at El-Op - Electro Optical Industries Ltd. (1979-1988) he used these two fields to develop Holographic Optical Elements (H.O.Es) for the "TFILA" project – an innovative helmet-mounted display for aircraft pilot. He studied physics B.Sc degree at the Tel-Aviv University, 1970,
and Applied Physics M.Sc degree at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, 1973.
Since 1989 Oded is consulting optical engineering to companies in Israel in a wide variety of fields including: VR displays, mobile-lens and applications, medical technologies, defense systems, microelectronics, consulting investment in optical projects, and more.
In recent years he developed an algorithm to a-priory relax the tolerances of a lens during the optimization stage. He teaches lens design in the graduate school of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
